Honors Program Schedule for Academic Yr 2008/09

  • Sometime during March, but before Friday - March 27
    Register and submit an abstract to Bridget O'Meara, urc@du.edu for presentation of a poster or oral report on May 8th (see below). Copy to Dr. Anna Sher asher@du.edu.
  • Wednesday - April 15
    Submit two copies of the thesis, in final form but not bound, with the approving signature of the advising professor on the title page, to the Departmental Office, by 3 pm.
  • Wednesday - April 22
    Reclaim your thesis, probably with request for revisions.
  • Tuesday - April 28
    Submit revised thesis with corrections requested by the Committee, if necessary.
  • Friday - May 1
    Have a poster prepared, presenting the highlights of your work, to post near your lab and defend from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. Stay as guest of honor for a reception for all honors students and faculty members from 5:00 to 5:30. Parents and friends are welcome.
  • Thursday - May 7
    Defend the poster, or make an oral presentation, at Symposium 2009: A Conference of Undergraduate Research, sponsored by the Undergraduate Research Center, University Honors Program, PinS program, and Phi Beta Kappa. Free lunch. (See March 28, above).
