Research Interests:
In this lab, we study the development of the sea urchin, currently focussing on the genetic and environmental control of the constellation of events around hatching, when the larva has attained a hundred cells or so: the synthesis and secretion of enzymes involved in the hatching process, the development and coordination of cilia, and the beginning of organized locomotory behavior.
